Downtown Zebulon businesses and property owners have access to a range of local, regional, and statewide resources designed to support business growth, revitalization, and long-term success. The following programs offer guidance, training, and financial support to help strengthen downtown.

NC Main Street & Rural Planning

NC Main Street & Rural Planning provides technical assistance, tools, and best practices to help communities strengthen downtown districts through preservation-based economic development. The program is built around the Main Street Four-Point Approach: Organization, Promotion, Design, and Economic Vitality, and supports communities working to enhance downtown character, economic health, and quality of place.

NC Small Business and Technology Center

The NC Small Business and Technology Center offers no-cost, confidential business advising and educational programs for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Services include help with business planning, marketing strategy, financial analysis, and growth planning, making it a valuable resource for both startups and established businesses.

Wake Tech Small Business Center

The Wake Tech Small Business Center provides training, workshops, and one-on-one advising tailored to small businesses and entrepreneurs in Zebulon and Wake County. Through Launch Wake County, business owners can access practical support to move from idea to launch, or to strengthen and grow an existing business.

Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program

The Façade Improvement Grant Program helps stimulate private investment and enhance the appearance of commercial buildings in downtown Zebulon. Grants are available on a reimbursement basis for up to 50% of eligible project costs, up to a maximum of $2,500 per façade, for properties located within the Downtown Overlay District.

Eligible improvements include exterior doors, windows, painting, awnings, exterior lighting, and façade materials that are visible from a public right-of-way. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until annual funds are exhausted, and all projects must be approved before work begins.
