In 2021, Olde Raleigh Distillery successfully applied for and received a $2,500 Façade Grant from the Town of Zebulon to support the renovation of the historic Pope's Five and Dime building located at 209 N. Arendell Avenue.
This once-vacant structure—spanning more than 10,000 square feet—was transformed into a vibrant community gathering space, breathing new life into a key block of the downtown corridor. The façade improvements included exterior painting, the installation of new windows, upgraded push bar doors for enhanced safety, and a roll-up garage door providing access to an outdoor patio area.
These investments not only preserved the character of a historically significant building but also helped create a welcoming environment for visitors and residents. The addition of a 200-person event space further positioned the property as a cornerstone for downtown engagement, supporting local economic growth and community activity along N. Arendell Avenue.
